Maintaining the Domestic Adoption Registration Fee

On July 08, 2016, the Government of Vietnam promulgated Decree 114/2016/ND-CP regulating the fees for the registration of child adoption and the fees for licensing the operation of foreign adoption organizations.

The fee levels for adoption registration are specifically prescribed as follows:

- A fee of 400,000 VND per case for domestic adoption registration;- A fee of 9,000,000 VND per case for Vietnamese citizens residing abroad, and foreign nationals (NNN) permanently residing abroad adopting Vietnamese citizens;- A fee of 4,500,000 VND per case for NNN permanently residing in Vietnam adopting Vietnamese citizens, and NNN residing in neighboring border areas adopting Vietnamese children residing in the Vietnamese border area.- A fee of 150 US dollars per case for adoption registration at a Vietnamese representative office abroad.

The fee will be converted into the local currency according to the selling rate of the US dollar as announced by the bank where the Vietnamese representative office in that country has its account.

Decree 114/2016/ND-CP takes effect from January 1, 2017.
