the Government of Vietnam has just promulgated Decree 44/2016/ND-CP guiding the Law on Occupational Safety and Hygiene regarding the activities of technical inspection of occupational safety, safety training, occupational hygiene, and labor environment monitoring.

Validity period of the Certificate of Eligibility (GCN) for Technical Safety Inspection Activities in Labor as follows:

- 05 years for new or extended GCN.

Abolish the regulation on reissuing GCN upon expiration and instead stipulate cases eligible for extension, with the GCN duration extended by two years compared to the regulations in Decree 45/2013/ND-CP.

- In case of reissuance, the remaining duration of the previously issued GCN applies.

Simultaneously, the Decree also specifies the conditions, procedures for issuance, extension, and reissuance of the GCN for Technical Safety Inspection Activities in Labor.

Decree 44/2016/ND-CP takes effect as of July 1, 2016.
