Addition of Equipment to the List of Group 2 Measuring Instruments

The Minister of Science and Technology issues Circular 03/2024/TT-BKHCN amending Circular 23/2013/TT-BKHCN regulating measurement of group 2 measuring instruments as amended and supplemented by Circular 07/2019/TT-BKHCN.

Addition of Equipment to the List of Group 2 Measuring Instruments

To add an electric vehicle battery charging energy meter to the list of group 2 measuring instruments.

To be specific, the electric vehicle battery charging energy meter includes:

- Alternating current (AC) energy meter for charging electric bicycles and electric motorcycles: The inspection cycle is 60 months.

- AC energy meter for charging electric cars: The inspection cycle is 36 months.

- Direct current (DC) energy meter for charging electric cars: The inspection cycle is 36 months.

Thus, according to the new regulations in Circular 03/2024/TT-BKHCN, the List of Group 2 Measuring Instruments will include 69 instruments and equipment.

Group 2 measuring instruments are used for quantifying goods and services in transactions, ensuring safety, protecting public health, environmental protection, inspection, judicial assessment, and other public activities controlled according to the current Vietnamese metrological regulations.

Some measuring instruments and equipment in the List of Group 2 Measuring Instruments include:

- Length measuring instruments, including:

+ Tape measures;

+ Optical distance measuring instruments: The inspection cycle is 12 months;

+ Water depth measuring instruments: The inspection cycle is 12 months;

+ Underground construction depth measuring instruments: The inspection cycle is 24 months;

- Taximeters: The inspection cycle is 18 months;

- Speed checking instruments for vehicles: The inspection cycle is 24 months;

- Level measuring instruments: The inspection cycle is 12 months;…
