According to Directive 03/CT-TTg recently issued, the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam requests the Chairmen of the People's Committees of provinces and cities to focus on effectively carrying out the following tasks to enhance the handling of adoption affairs in the new situation:

- Review and evaluate the capacity of social assistance facilities (including public and non-public) within the provinces and cities;- Organize training sessions, refresher courses, and capacity building for officials and public employees, social workers, collaborators in solving adoption issues;- Enhance the verification of the origins of abandoned children given up for adoption; simultaneously, implement good practices in finding substitute families for the children;- Conduct regular and unexpected inspections of the reception and resolution of adoption issues for children in special circumstances at social assistance facilities to prevent and detect legal violations;- Fully and promptly allocate funds for resolving adoption issues according to current regulations.
