On August 28, 2024, the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment issued Official Dispatch 1419/KCB-QLCL&CDT regarding the assurance of medical examination and treatment during the National Day holiday on September 2, 2024.

The Department of Medical Examination and Treatment under the Ministry of Health of Vietnam requests the units to direct the medical facilities under their supervision to perform the following tasks well:

- Ensure staffing coverage in four levels: leadership, professional, administrative-logistics, and security-self-defense.

- Organize well the emergency, medical examination, and treatment, ensuring that all emergency patients are examined and treated without refusal or delay in handling emergencies. If the case is out of jurisdiction or specialty, stabilize the initial emergency, fully explain to the patient and their family before transferring to another medical facility.

- Strengthen the workforce, means, and medical supplies to ensure the highest possible capacity to rescue victims of traffic accidents. Assign emergency standby at external medical facilities, ready and prompt to respond in case of mass emergencies, serious traffic accidents, or public disasters.

- Ensure the work of food safety and hygiene, prevent food poisoning, drowning, and warn of accidents in areas crowded with tourists.

- Ensure a 24/24-hour hotline standby to be ready to direct, cooperate, support, and rescue in necessary cases. Report daily on the situation of medical examination, treatment, traffic accidents, and the list of death cases on the online reporting page cdc.kcb.vn (support email cd.kcb@gmail.com).

Reporting time before 9:00 AM daily (data for 24 hours according to the shift from 7:00 AM the previous day to 7:00 AM the following day), starting from the morning of August 31, 2024, to the morning of September 4, 2024.

- In case of significant developments such as outbreaks of dangerous diseases, disaster emergencies, mass accidents, food poisoning, and other special cases, the units are requested to report urgently to the supervisory agency via the hotline and simultaneously send a quick written report on the significant developments for a prompt resolution.

National Day Holiday Schedule on September 2, 2024 in Vietnam

According to Announcement 5015/TB-LDTBXH in 2023, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs announces that administrative agencies, public service units, political organizations, socio-political organizations, businesses, and other employers shall observe the National Day holiday schedule in 2024 as follows:

- Officials and public employees and workers of administrative agencies, public service units, political organizations, and socio-political organizations (hereinafter referred to as officials and public employees) will be off for the National Day holiday from Saturday, August 31, 2024, to the end of Tuesday, September 3, 2024, Gregorian calendar. This break includes 02 days of the National Day holiday and 02 weekends.

- Agencies and units that implement the 2024 National Day holiday schedule must ensure: reasonable arrangement and assignment of departments to continuously handle work and serve the public well.

- Agencies and units that do not have fixed weekend breaks on Saturdays and Sundays will arrange the holiday schedule according to the units' specific plans and programs.

- For workers in the private sector, employers will decide on the 2024 National Day holiday schedule as follows:

+ For the National Day holiday: Monday, September 2, 2024, Gregorian calendar, and choose one of the following two days: Sunday, September 1, 2024, or Tuesday, September 3, 2024, Gregorian calendar.

+ Notify employees of the National Day holiday schedule at least 30 days before implementation.

+ If the weekly day off coincides with the public holiday stipulated in Clause 1, Article 112 of the Labor Code 2019, employees will have compensatory leave on the next working day according to Clause 3, Article 111 of the Labor Code 2019.
