Support Policy for Water Supply for Aquaculture and Crop Irrigation in Vietnam

Decree 62/2018/ND-CP was issued by the Government of Vietnam on May 2, 2018 stipulating the financial support for the use of irrigation products and public services.

According to Decree 62, the support levels for water supply to aquaculture and irrigation for long-term industrial crops, fruit trees, flowers, and medicinal plants in Vietnam are calculated as follows:

- In cases where water supply for aquaculture utilizes tidal flow, the financial support is calculated at 50% of the support levels specified in the above table.

- For water supply for long-term industrial crops, fruit trees, flowers, and medicinal plants, if it is not feasible to calculate by cubic meters (m^3), the support level shall be calculated by area (hectares), with financial support equal to 80% of the public utility irrigation support level for rice cultivation land for one year according to regulations.

Additionally, Vietnam has provisions to support seedling, vegetable, color plant, and short-term industrial crop areas, including winter crops, calculated at 40% of the support level for rice cultivation land. For salt production, the support level is calculated at 2% of the value of finished salt products.
