Cultural and Artistic Activities for Vocational Education Students: What Are the Contents?

Recently, the Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs has signed and promulgated Circular 16/2013/TT-BLDTBXH regulating the organization of cultural and artistic activities for students in vocational training institutions.

The content of cultural and artistic activities for students at vocational training institutions is stipulated in Article 4 of Circular 16/2013/TT-BLDTBXH. To be specific:

- Viewpoints and guidelines of the Communist Party, state policies, and laws.- The tradition of patriotism, revolutionary tradition, and national cultural tradition combined with the essence of human culture; educating morality, awareness of responsibility, civic duty, ethics, lifestyle, and aesthetics for students.- Praising the homeland, the country, the people of Vietnam; commending and honoring exemplary individuals, recognizing outstanding students and skilled workers who have been actively contributing to the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country.- Criticizing negative phenomena, preventing, and combating social evils among students.

This Circular also stipulates that cultural and artistic activities for students at vocational training institutions must be carried out according to the following principles:

- Aligning with the guidelines of the Communist Party, state policies, and laws, suitable to the specific conditions of the vocational training institution, ministries and central authorities, and localities; avoiding wastefulness, formalism; ensuring the fulfillment of the basic functions of culture.- Suiting the age of students while ensuring harmony within the overall cultural and artistic activities of the vocational training institution.- Implementing the policy of private investment in organizing cultural and artistic activities for students.
