According to Decision No. 1358/QD-TTg dated September 13, 2017, by the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam, VND 38,119,192,080 from the Central budget for 2017 will be allocated to support 23 provinces in purchasing type O and A vaccines for the prevention of foot-and-mouth disease in 2017.
The localities receiving the most support are:
- Nghe An Province: 278,000 doses (Type O, A) with a total cost of 4,695,420,000;- Dak Lak Province: 371,950 doses (Type O, A) with a total cost of 6,282,235,500;- Son La Province: 90,600 doses (Type O) and 135,600 doses (Type O, A) with a total cost of 3,359,364,000.
The locality receiving the least support is Kien Giang Province with 9,400 doses (Type O) with a total cost of 110,920,000.
Additionally, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development provided 937,865 doses of Type O vaccine free of charge from the national reserve to support 4 provinces in administering foot-and-mouth disease vaccines in 2017, including:
- Lai Chau: 63,125 doses;- Son La: 107,400 doses;- Gia Lai: 753,340 doses;- Tay Ninh: 14,000 doses.
