New Regulations on Quarantine for Individuals Who Have Visited Danang from July 01, 2020

The Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control (Department of Health) has just issued Official Dispatch 2358/TTKSBT-BTN regarding the organization of Covid-19 monitoring for individuals who have traveled to Da Nang from July 1, 2020.

New Regulations on Quarantine for People Who Have Been to Da Nang Since July 1, 2020 (Illustrative Image)

Pursuant to Official Dispatch 2820/UBND-VX dated July 26, 2020, from the People's Committee of the city regarding strengthening the prevention and control of COVID-19 in Ho Chi Minh City, the Center for Disease Control of the city requests the Directors of District Health Centers to implement monitoring and COVID-19 prevention measures in the community as follows:

Regarding the monitoring subjects: Those who have left Da Nang since July 1, 2020, and are currently present in Ho Chi Minh City.

Quarantine and Medical Supervision Regulations:

All monitored subjects must complete a medical declaration as prescribed. Test samples, once collected, will be sent to the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control.

1. For people who have left Da Nang ≤ 14 days:

- Cases with symptoms related to COVID-19: Guide to district hospitals for sample collection and quarantine in the hospital isolation area.

- Cases in close contact with COVID-19 patients: Collect test samples and perform centralized quarantine in districts (level 3 quarantine).

+ Individuals in contact before the patient developed symptoms: Collect at least one respiratory sample and one blood sample.

+ Individuals in contact after the patient developed symptoms: Collect at least two nasopharyngeal swabs.

- Cases who have visited the following 3 hospitals: C Hospital, Da Nang Hospital, and Orthopedic Trauma Hospital: Collect test samples at least twice and perform centralized quarantine in districts (level 3 quarantine).

- Cases who have visited locations announced by the Ministry of Health (excluding the 3 hospitals above and not in close contact with patients): Collect test samples 2 times and home quarantine (level 2 quarantine).

- Other cases: Collect test samples 2 times and self-monitor health at home for 14 days as per health guidance (level 1 monitoring).

2. For people who have left Da Nang > 14 days: Conduct a one-time test sample collection for these cases. Types of test samples: 01 blood sample and 01 respiratory sample.

3. For special cases: Subjects who have left Da Nang < 14 days for short-term travel or work: Complete a medical declaration, collect test samples, and quarantine as prescribed above. Allow leaving Ho Chi Minh City for the "self-health monitoring" group if tested negative for SARS-CoV-2.
