The WannaCrypt malware is spreading and attacking computers with the goal of encrypting data to demand ransom, affecting many individuals, organizations, and entities worldwide. In light of this situation, the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has issued a directive requesting that agencies and units take note of the following:
- Immediately update all versions of the Windows operating system as well as the antivirus program being used, and install licensed antivirus software for computers without antivirus software;- Be cautious with emails that contain attachments and strange links sent in emails, content shared, and exchanged on social networks, chat tools, etc. Use online or licensed malware scanning tools to check files before opening.- It is strictly forbidden to open links with .hta extensions or links with unclear structures, as well as shortened links.
