The People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has just issued Official Dispatch 1204/UBND-TH regarding the implementation of Directive 16/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam on urgent measures to prevent and control the COVID-19 pandemic.

Based on the characteristics and actual situation in the City, the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee directs as follows:
- Factories, workshops, and enterprises operate normally, but must ensure a minimum safe distance of 2 meters between workers, wear masks at the workplace, conduct disinfection and sterilization, ensure regular ventilation, and have a declaration of commitment to comply with epidemic prevention and control sent to the district People’s Committee where the factory is located;
- Heads of enterprises, production facilities, and business establishments are responsible for implementing epidemic prevention and control measures at their establishments, ensuring absolute health and safety for workers;
- Essential production and business establishments and essential goods and service providers continue to operate normally to serve the city’s residents.
- Strictly implement the minimum distance of 2 meters when transacting, working, contacting, and dining. Do not gather more than 2 people outside of offices, schools, hospitals, and public places. The Chairman of the district People’s Committee shall be responsible before the City People’s Committee for gatherings of more than 2 people outside of offices, schools, hospitals, and public places.
- Require all citizens to voluntarily comply with the requirements and epidemic prevention and control measures, actively participate in voluntary medical declarations, fully implement self-protection measures for themselves and their families, and responsibly participate in epidemic prevention and control activities of the authorities and the community.
Additionally, the City People’s Committee requires everyone to stay at home, only going out when absolutely necessary such as buying food, groceries, medicine, emergency care, working at factories, workshops, enterprises, and other cases as guided by the Department of Health.
