According to Article 9 of Circular 46/2012/TT-BCT, the Department of Industry and Trade is responsible for compiling and sending reports on national and local industrial extension in their respective areas as stipulated in Circular 20/2012/TT-BCT dated July 20, 2012, by the Minister of Industry and Trade regarding the policies for consolidated statistical reports applicable to the Departments of Industry and Trade of provinces and municipalities to be sent to the Provincial People's Committee and the Local Industry Department.

Simultaneously, the Department of Industry and Trade must compile extraordinary reports on industrial extension within the province as requested by the Local Industry Department, the Provincial People's Committee, and other competent authorities. They must develop and submit to the Provincial People's Committee regulations on reporting policies, monitoring and assessment criteria, and indicators for the industrial extension program and projects, and assign these tasks to local agencies and units for implementation.

Additionally, the Local Industry Department is responsible for compiling reports on industrial extension nationwide to be submitted to the Ministry of Industry and Trade and reported to the Prime Minister of Vietnam as stipulated.

Annually, the Local Industry Department cooperates with the Departments of Industry and Trade, ministries, central authorities, and related units to guide, inspect, and supervise the implementation of national industrial extension projects; the Departments of Industry and Trade cooperate with Departments, central authorities, and related units in the locality to guide, inspect, and supervise the implementation of local industrial extension projects.
