This is a noteworthy content in Circular 120/2020/TT-BQP regarding the technical ranking for pilots and crew members in the Vietnam People's Army Force.
Vietnam: Standards of Rank 3 military helicopter mechanics (Illustrative photo)
Article 19 Circular 120/2020/TT-BQP stipulates the standards of Rank 3 military helicopter mechanics in Vietnam as follows:
- Qualifications in aviation technical skills and task performance capability:
+ Serving as a non-ranked military helicopter mechanic;
+ Performing assigned tasks in accordance with the provisions set out in point b, clause 1, Article 16 of Circular 120/2020/TT-BQP.
- Flight hour standards:
+ Total accumulated flight hours ≥ 550 hours (for Air Force Academy helicopter mechanics ≥ 650 hours);
+ Accumulated flight hours on the operating helicopter for type-conversion crew members ≥ 100 hours.
Moreover, the standards of Rank 2 military helicopter mechanics in Vietnam as stipulated include:
- Qualifications in aviation technical skills and task performance capability:
+ Serving as a Rank 3 military helicopter mechanic;\
+ Performing assigned tasks in accordance with the provisions set out in point b, clause 1, Article 17 of Circular 120/2020/TT-BQP.
- Flight hour standards:
+ Total accumulated flight hours ≥ 750 hours (for Air Force Academy helicopter mechanics ≥ 850 hours);
+ Accumulated flight hours on the operating helicopter for type-conversion crew members ≥ 150 hours.
Additionally, Article 21 of Circular 120/2020/TT-BQP stipulates the specific standards of Rank 1 military helicopter mechanics as follows:
- Qualifications in aviation technical skills and task performance capability:
+ Serving as a Level 2 military helicopter mechanic;
+ Performing assigned tasks in accordance with the provisions set out in point b, clause 1, Article 18 of Circular 120/2020/TT-BQP.
- Flight hour standards:
+ Total accumulated flight hours ≥ 950 hours (for Air Force Academy helicopter mechanics ≥ 1150 hours);
+ Accumulated flight hours on the operating helicopter for type-conversion crew members ≥ 180 hours.
Note: Aviation mechanics are responsible for aviation technicalities; directly inspecting, and refueling various oils into airplanes or helicopters; inspecting, and observing the working conditions of the engine and the continuous function of the steering, and navigation systems; operating conveyor belts, shut doors, bomb control; using winches, loading cargo, and people from the ground or water onto the helicopter; working with the flight crew to address any arising aviation technical issues during the flight.
