Vietnam’s regulations on control of topographic and cartographic product quality

According to Article 34 of the Law on Topography and Cartography 2018 of Vietnam, control of topographic and cartographic product quality is specified as follows:

- Quality of topographic and cartographic products shall be controlled in accordance with provisions herein and provisions in the Law on Quality of goods and products.

- Inspection of topographic and cartographic product quality shall be conducted in consistent with technical standards and regulations on topography and cartography as well as approved technical design.

- Quality of domestic and imported topographic and cartographic products to be put on the market must be consistent with applicable standards, technical regulations and law provisions.

- Responsibilities for quality of topographic and cartographic products shall be allocated to organizations and individuals as follows:

+ Organizations and individuals shall be responsible for the quality of their own topographic and cartographic products;

+ Organizations and individuals shall be responsible for the results of quality testing and supervision as well as acceptance of topographic and cartographic products;

+ Investors of topographic and cartographic plan or project shall be responsible for quality of products under management.

- Ministers, Directors of ministerial agencies and Governmental agencies shall issue regulations and criteria for quality of topographic and cartographic products under management.

- The Minister of Natural Resources and Environment of Vietnam shall issue regulations on inspection, appraisal and acceptance of topographic and cartographic product quality.
