Vietnam: New techniques in medical examination and treatment that are researched abroad

On December 29, 201, the Ministry of Health of Vietnam issued Circular No. 55/2015/TT-BYT regulating the recognition of clinical research and testing of new techniques and new methods in medical examination and treatment.

New techniques and new methods in medical examination and treatment being researched for the first time abroad are listed in Circular No. 55/2015/TT-BYT of the Ministry of Health of Vietnam, including:

- New techniques and new methods, which have been completed and have the results of the previous research phase abroad reported, and continue to proceed with the next research phase in that country may be considered for simultaneous research deployment in Vietnam.

- New techniques and new methods of which the research have been completed and evaluated but have not been applied abroad and in Vietnam:

+ Techniques, methods in Group III are exempted from pre-clinical testing.

+ Techniques, methods in Group II are exempted from pre-clinical testing and undergo Phase 1 clinical testing.

+ Techniques, methods in Group I are exempted from pre-clinical testing and undergo Phase 1, 2 clinical testing.
