Vietnam: Fire resistance limits for urban underground railway structures

Here is the noteworthy content stipulated in Circular 11/2018/TT-BXD of Ministry of Construction of Vietnam promulgating the National Technical Regulation on underground railway structures - QCVN 08:2018/BXD.

The structures of urban underground railway structures in Vietnam must meet the following fire resistance limits:

Shell of train tunnels and dead-end tunnels R90
Station pillars R90
Partition walls of elevator shafts and stairwells in tunnels REI 120
Walls of stairwells REI 120
Walls of auxiliary stations R 90/EI 60
Walls and ceilings of flammable oil and paint storage rooms REI 120
Shell of elevator shafts and station lobbies R60
Partition walls between passageways and cable-ventilation trenches R 45
Beams, stair body, stairwells R60
Covering structure of the beam slab's inner layer REI 60/R60
Walls of escape routes between tunnels R 45 (EI 45)
Self-closing fire doors EI30
Load-bearing and enclosing structures above platforms and station passageways REI 90
Suspended ceilings in corridors RE 15

Refer to the relevant regulations in Circular 11/2018/TT-BXD,which comes into force in Vietnam from March 15, 2019.
