On November 14, 2024, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly of Vietnam promulgated Resolution 1282/NQ-UBTVQH15 regarding the reorganization of commune-level administrative units in Phu Tho Province for the period 2023-2025.

Reorganization of administrative units in Phu Tho province from January 01, 2025

The reorganization of commune-level administrative units in Phu Tho Province from January 1, 2025, is as follows:

(1) Reorganization of Commune-level Administrative Units in Viet Tri City

- Entire natural area of 0.98 km², population size of 7,357 people of Van Co Ward will be merged into Nong Trang Ward. After the merger, Nong Trang Ward will have a natural area of 2.87 km² and a population size of 29,196 people.

Nong Trang Ward borders the wards of Duu Lau, Gia Cam, Minh Nong, Minh Phuong, Tan Dan, and Van Phu;

- Entire natural area of 3.17 km², population size of 6,191 people of Ben Got Ward will be merged into Tho Son Ward. After the merger, Tho Son Ward will have a natural area of 4.16 km² and a population size of 13,403 people.

Tho Son Ward borders the wards of Bach Hac, Thanh Mieu, Tien Cat; Song Lo Commune, Trung Vuong Commune, and Hanoi City;

- After the reorganization, Viet Tri City will have 20 commune-level administrative units, including 11 wards and 09 communes.

(2) Reorganization of Commune-level Administrative Units in Doan Hung District

- Entire natural area of 14.07 km², population size of 5,522 people of Minh Phu Commune and entire natural area of 11.86 km², population size of 4,889 people of Vu Quang Commune will be merged into Chan Mong Commune. After the merger, Chan Mong Commune will have a natural area of 35.75 km² and a population size of 14,530 people.

Chan Mong Commune borders Hung Long Commune, Yen Kien Commune; Phu Ninh District, Thanh Ba District, and Tuyen Quang Province;

- Entire natural area of 6.66 km², population size of 3,419 people of Minh Tien Commune and entire natural area of 12.13 km², population size of 6,292 people of Tieu Son Commune will be merged into Yen Kien Commune. After the merger, Yen Kien Commune will have a natural area of 29.58 km² and a population size of 14,324 people.

Yen Kien Commune borders the Ca Dinh, Chan Mong, Hung Long, Ngoc Quan communes, and the commune-level town of Doan Hung; Ha Hoa District and Thanh Ba District;

- Entire natural area of 16.55 km², population size of 6,082 people of Van Don Commune will be merged into Hung Long Commune. After the merger, Hung Long Commune will have a natural area of 24.53 km² and a population size of 9,340 people.

Hung Long Commune borders Chan Mong Commune, Hop Nhat Commune, Yen Kien Commune, Commune-level town of Doan Hung and Tuyen Quang Province;

- Entire natural area of 8.78 km², population size of 5,688 people of Van Du Commune will be merged into Chi Dam Commune. After the merger, Chi Dam Commune will have a natural area of 21.50 km² and a population size of 15,623 people.

Chi Dam Commune borders Hop Nhat Commune, Hung Xuyen Commune, Phu Lam Commune, Commune-level town of Doan Hung and Tuyen Quang Province;

- Entire natural area of 12.97 km², population size of 3,226 people of Minh Luong Commune will be merged into Bang Doan Commune. After the merger, Bang Doan Commune will have a natural area of 27.27 km² and a population size of 6,981 people.

Bang Doan Commune borders the Bang Luan, Phu Lam, Phuc Lai communes, and Ha Hoa District;

- Entire natural area of 6.56 km², population size of 4,529 people of Soc Dang Commune will be merged into Commune-level town of Doan Hung. After the merger, Commune-level town of Doan Hung will have a natural area of 11.68 km² and a population size of 12,773 people.

Doan Hung Town borders the Chi Dam, Hop Nhat, Hung Long, Ngoc Quan, Phu Lam, and Yen Kien communes;

- After the reorganization, Doan Hung District will have 14 commune-level administrative units, including 13 communes and 01 commune-level town.

(3) Reorganization of Commune-level Administrative Units in Cam Khe District

- Establish Minh Thang Commune based on the merger of the entire natural area of 8.91 km², population size of 9,268 people from Tuy Loc Commune, entire natural area of 4.92 km², population size of 7,944 people from Ngo Xa Commune, and entire natural area of 5.07 km², population size of 3,958 people from Thuy Lieu Commune. After establishment, Minh Thang Commune will have a natural area of 18.90 km² and a population size of 21,170 people.

Minh Thang Commune borders Minh Tan Commune, Phuong Vi Commune, Tam Son Commune, Tien Luong Commune, Van Ban Commune, and Ha Hoa District;

- Establish Phong Thinh Commune based on the merger of the entire natural area of 8.21 km², population size of 5,006 people from Cap Dan Commune, entire natural area of 5.75 km², population size of 3,727 people from Xuong Thinh Commune, and entire natural area of 8.39 km², population size of 5,877 people from Son Tinh Commune. After establishment, Phong Thinh Commune will have a natural area of 22.35 km² and a population size of 14,610 people.

Phong Thinh Commune borders Huong Lung, Phu Khe, Tung Khe, Van Ban communes, and the commune-level town of Cam Khe;

- Establish Nhat Tien Commune based on the merger of the entire natural area of 4.19 km², population size of 4,466 people from Phu Lac Commune, entire natural area of 7.71 km², population size of 3,594 people from Chuong Xa Commune, and entire natural area of 9.55 km², population size of 5,637 people from Van Khuc Commune. After establishment, Nhat Tien Commune will have a natural area of 21.45 km² and a population size of 13,697 people.

Nhat Tien Commune borders the Hung Viet, Huong Lung, Phu Khe, Yen Duong communes; Thanh Ba District and Yen Lap District;

- Entire natural area of 8.31 km², population size of 9,088 people from Ta Xa Commune, and entire natural area of 3.84 km², population size of 5,073 people from Yen Tap Commune will be merged into Phu Khe Commune. After the merger, Phu Khe Commune will have a natural area of 20.66 km² and a population size of 17,886 people.

Phu Khe Commune borders Huong Lung, Nhat Tien, Phong Thinh communes, the commune-level town of Cam Khe, and Thanh Ba District;

- After the reorganization, Cam Khe District will have 16 commune-level administrative units, including 15 communes and 01 commune-level town.

(4) Establishment of a Commune-level Town in Tan Son District

- Establish Tan Phu Town based on the entire natural area of 20.87 km² and a population size of 7,755 people from Tan Phu Commune.

Tan Phu Town borders the Minh Dai, My Thuan, Tan Son, Thach Kiet, Thu Ngac, and Xuan Dai communes;

- After the establishment of the commune-level town, Tan Son District will have 17 commune-level administrative units, including 16 communes and 01 commune-level town.

After arranging the commune-level administrative units, Phu Tho Province will have 13 district-level administrative units, including 11 districts, 01 district-level town, and 01 city; 207 commune-level administrative units, including 180 communes, 15 wards, and 12 commune-level towns.
