Vietnam: Basic skills required for graduates of Sales Management, Level 5 of VQF

On December 23, 2019, the Ministry of Labor - War Invalids and Social Affairs issued Circular 20/2019/TT-BLDTBXH on the minimum knowledge volume and required competencies for graduates from intermediate (Level 4 of VQF) and college (Level 5 of VQF) levels in business, management, and law sectors in Vietnam.

Under Circular 20/2019/TT-BLD-TBXH, the basic skills required for graduates of Sales Management, Level 5 of VQF in Vietnam are:

- Perform excellent communication, consulting, and customer care skills for the enterprise;

- Organize marketing activities for the enterprise;

- Undertake event organization tasks (planning, sponsor solicitation, liaising with suppliers, guest list and invitation management, guest reception, event inauguration, on-site services, event closure, post-event evaluation, etc.);

- Execute observation and bookkeeping skills proficiently, data updating, maintaining records and documents;

- Manage and utilize specialized equipment and machinery in sales;

- Handle product display tasks, presentation, and decoration of stalls, stores, and various products according to the designed space at the selling point;

- Accurately execute import and export tasks, ensuring correct quantities and types;

- Use Internet search tools effectively, gather information, partners, expand the enterprise market, and proficiently handle e-commerce transactions;

- Coordinate the sales process: retail, agency, supermarket, online;

- Manage sales documents and reports;

- Implement product preservation measures and procedures;

- Coordinate inventory checking procedures;

- Ensure occupational safety and fire prevention at the workplace;

- Execute market development and exploitation processes;

- Organize and manage the sales team, handle internal relations well;

- Coordinate sales monitoring activities;

- Use basic information technology as regulated; apply information technology in some specialized tasks of the profession;

- Use basic foreign language skills, achieving level 2/6 in the Vietnamese Foreign Language Competence Framework; apply foreign language skills in some specialized tasks of the profession.
