According to Resolution 129/NQ-CP, the Government of Vietnam emphasizes the focus on agricultural and rural development as a pillar of the economy in difficult times, continuing to promote the achievements that have been achieved such as:
On the basis of the achievements, continue to promote specific actions as follows:
- Pay attention to agricultural and rural development, which shall be the pillar of the economy during difficulty time; enhance capacity of the domestic market, boost development of an independent economy and lessen dependence on foreign ingredients and supply chains.
- Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development shall take charge and cooperate with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and relevant regulatory bodies in closely monitoring weather conditions, proactively giving advice and direction concerning response to natural disasters, especially days-long heavy rain and flood, strong storms, super storms, flash floods, landslides, drought and saltwater intrusion. Direct and expedite local governments to inspect and handle crucial flood control system, reservoir and dam locations and areas with high risk of floods. Continue to accelerate swine repopulation, control pork price and epidemics strictly, and proactively and promptly adopt handling solutions. Enhance forest management and protection, and strictly handle violations.
-Ministry of Industry and Trade shall cooperate with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ministry of Finance, relevant ministries and regulatory bodies, and local governments in developing action programs and plans for trade promotion and boosting of export to potential markets; concurrently, stimulating demand for domestic consumption, focusing on development of the domestic market with detailed solutions and policies for domestic tourism, retail, transport, accommodation, food and beverages services, agricultural products, etc.
Highly focus on fighting the epidemic, but do not forget to restore and develop the economy; continue to focus on “dual targets” of socio-economic recovery and development, striving to achieve the highest growth rate possible, while vigorously preventing COVID-19;
