Summary of Requirements for Stations on the Subway Line

On December 26, 2018, the Ministry of Construction issued Circular 11/2018/TT-BXD promulgating the National Technical Regulation on Metro Projects, code QCVN 08:2018/BXD.

According to the regulations in Circular 11/2018/TT-BXD, stations on the metro line must meet the following standards:

- Stations are to be located in areas with high passenger concentration and potential connections to other forms of transportation such as railway stations, roadways, waterways, and near city landmarks.- When the height difference between the passenger entrance and the platform level exceeds 3.5 meters, consideration must be given to installing escalators to assist stairways for passenger convenience.- The number of escalators must be sufficient to handle the maximum calculated passenger flow, ensuring smooth evacuation from the station during incidents and adverse situations, such as when one escalator is under repair or another unexpectedly stops.- The station must meet access requirements for persons with disabilities and the elderly, as specified in QCVN 10:2014/BXD.- Corridors within the station and underground passages longer than 100 meters should consider the installation of moving walkways for passenger convenience.- Commercial spaces, display areas, and other amenities serving passengers must not obstruct passenger flow, service, or impede metro operation/management technology.
