Circular No. 34/2018/TT-BCT issued by the Ministry of Industry and Trade regulates the acceptance and inspection of overburden volume in coal mining by the open-pit method. This document takes effect from November 26, 2018.

- Documents and maps used for calculating, acceptance testing, and inspecting the volume of earth and rock to be excavated and transported must be constructed in accordance with current regulations;- The geomechanical documentation of the mine must fully specify all types of earth and rock, the specific weight of each type, as well as the boundaries of different types of earth and rock; maps and cross-sections must be compiled at the same scale as the maps used for acceptance testing of the earth and rock volume excavated;- The statistical reporting must comply with legal regulations on statistics;- Documents and data used for calculating the volume of earth and rock to be excavated and transported must not be erased or altered.
