Procedure and Formality for Appointment of Vietnam Coast Guard Officers from January 16, 2020

The sequence and procedures for the appointment of Police Officers and Investigators of the Vietnam Coast Guard are detailed in Article 22 of Circular 177/2019/TT-BQP, specifically through the following steps:

- Step 1: The Coast Guard agency, unit reviews and prepares the dossier for the appointment of Police Officers, Investigators, submits it to the Party Committee, and sends it to the Selection Council for Police Officers, Investigators (hereinafter referred to as the Selection Council);- Step 2: The Standing Agency of the Selection Council appraises the dossier for the appointment of Police Officers, Investigators from the Coast Guard agency, unit, and consolidates and reports to the Selection Council;- Step 3: The Selection Council meets to review the dossier for the appointment of Police Officers, Investigators;- Step 4: Based on the meeting results for the review of the dossier for the appointment of Police Officers, Investigators, the Selection Council reports to the Standing Committee of the Communist Party of the Vietnam Coast Guard Command;- Step 5: The Standing Committee of the Communist Party of the Vietnam Coast Guard Command approves the report on the results of the dossier review for the appointment of Police Officers, Investigators by the Selection Council; Based on the approval results of the Standing Committee of the Communist Party of the Vietnam Coast Guard Command, the Selection Council recommends the Vietnam Coast Guard Commander to decide on the appointment of Police Officers, Investigators.

In addition, Circular 177/2019/TT-BQP stipulates the dossier for the appointment of Police Officers, Investigators of the Vietnam Coast Guard, including:

- Official Dispatch of the Coast Guard agency, unit requesting the appointment of Police Officers, Investigators;- Detailed review of the working process by the Coast Guard agency, unit for the individual proposed for appointment;- The list of officials proposed for appointment to the position of Police Officers, Investigators;- Resume (summary 63) of the proposed official with a 4x6 cm photo attached, issued by the personnel agency;- Certified copies of relevant diplomas, certificates;- Two summer uniform photos without a hat, size 2 cm x 3 cm;- Other documents, materials as requested by the Selection Council.

The deadline for submitting the dossier and official letters of recommendation for appointment is divided into 02 periods:

- Period 1: Submit before March 5 annually;

- Period 2: Submit before September 5 annually.
