Level of Autonomy Achieved After Graduating from Intermediate Medical Laboratory Technology

Circular 54/2018/TT-BLDTBXH stipulates the minimum amount of knowledge and competency requirements that learners must achieve after graduating from intermediate level and college level in health and social service disciplines. It was issued by the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids, and Social Affairs on December 28, 2018.

In the Regulation on the minimum amount of knowledge, competency requirements that learners achieve after graduating from the intermediate level, college level in the medical lab technology sector, issued together with Circular 54/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, the minimum level of autonomy and responsibility that learners achieve after graduating from the intermediate level in medical lab technology is stipulated as follows:

- Work independently or in groups, solve complex tasks and issues in changing working conditions;

- Be responsible for the results of their work before the group and superiors;

- Accurately assess the quality of work upon completion and the performance of group members;

- Adhere to the principles, technical processes of testing; regulations on labor safety, biological safety, use, and maintenance of facilities and equipment;

- Comply with professional ethics, and practice according to legal regulations;

- Be cautious, meticulous, accurate, scientific, and proper while performing tasks.

Additionally, after graduation, learners are capable of meeting the requirements of job positions in the sector, which includes:

- Reception and result delivery;

- Sample reception, collection, and handling;

- Blood transfusion hematology testing;

- Biochemical and immunological testing;

- Microbiological and parasitological testing;

- Pathological and cytological testing.
