Pursuant to the regulations on the minimum volume of knowledge and competency requirements that learners must achieve upon graduation from the intermediate and advanced levels in the machine tool repair mechanic industry, as issued with Circular 47/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, the intermediate level of machine tool repair mechanic is defined as an industry that performs specialized repair tasks on parts and component groups to overhaul machine tools, with the objective of restoring their operational status or reusing them in compliance with the prescribed standards; maintaining parts and component groups, as well as assembling and adjusting machine tools post-repair, contributing significantly to ensuring the productivity and quality of products, meeting Level 4 requirements in the Vietnam National Qualifications Framework.

The work involved in this profession is primarily carried out in workshops, factories, and production companies that use machine tools and mechanical processing machines. The work environment is relatively stable and changes little, adhering to safety and health standards. While the work intensity is not high, it requires meticulousness, dexterity, and creative thinking in diagnosing faults in parts and machine components. Identifying the causes of these faults enables the establishment of appropriate working procedures and ensures maintenance and repair meet technical requirements and customer satisfaction.

During the execution of tasks, workers may encounter various materials and industrial dust that could negatively affect humans and the environment, such as oils, industrial greases, and iron dust. Therefore, occupational safety and industrial hygiene must be prioritized.

To work in this field, laborers must be in good health, possess professional ethics, and have sufficient specialized knowledge and skills to meet job requirements. Furthermore, they must continuously learn to improve foreign language communication skills, expand social knowledge, develop meticulous, detailed, and clear working habits, foster professional awareness, and passion for the profession.

Minimum volume of knowledge: 1,400 hours (equivalent to 50 credits).

For detailed regulations, refer to Circular 47/2018/TT-BLDTBXH, effective from February 10, 2019.
