The Ministry of National Defense issues Circular No. 162/2018/TT-BQP guiding the implementation of special allowance policies for the Guard Force under the Ministry of National Defense.
According to the provisions of Circular 162, the special allowance rates include 30%, 25%, 20%, and 15% calculated based on the salary rate applied according to the military rank for officers or type, group, grade for professional soldiers. To be specific: the special allowance rate is calculated according to the following formula:
Special allowance rate | = | Salary coefficient of military rank or type, group, grade | x | Statutory pay rate | x | Percentage rate of special allowance |
In which: The statutory pay rate is implemented according to the regulations of the Government of Vietnam at each specific time.
Example: Comrade Dang Van B, a professional soldier (salary coefficient 4.70), a driver on escort duty, falls under the category of 25% special allowance. According to the regulations, from July 2018, Comrade Dang Van B is entitled to a special allowance of:
(4.70 x 1,390,000 VND/month) x 25% = 1,633,250 VND/month.
