On August 22, 2014, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment issued Circular 48/2014/TT-BTNMT specifying the technical standards for determining administrative boundary lines, setting boundary markers, and preparing administrative boundary records at all levels.
Establishment of Coordinate Tables for Administrative Boundary Markers and Characteristic Points on the Administrative Boundary Line (Illustrative Image)
Circular 48/2014/TT-BTNMT stipulates that the coordinate tables of administrative boundary markers and characteristic points on the district-level and provincial-level administrative boundary lines are established based on the coordinate confirmation tables of the commune-level administrative boundary markers. Specifically:
- Commune-level administrative boundary markers on the district-level administrative boundary line and intersections between commune-level administrative boundary lines and district-level administrative boundary lines where markers are not placed are considered characteristic points on the district-level administrative boundary line;- District-level administrative boundary markers on the provincial-level administrative boundary line and intersections between district-level administrative boundary lines and provincial-level administrative boundary lines where markers are not placed are considered characteristic points on the provincial-level administrative boundary line.
In cases where the coordinate system of the commune-level administrative boundary map differs from that of the district-level and provincial-level maps, the coordinate values must be converted to match the coordinate system of the district-level and provincial-level maps.
The coordinate tables of administrative boundary markers and characteristic points on the district-level and provincial-level administrative boundary lines are prepared as prescribed in Appendix 06 issued with this Circular. Coordinate and altitude values are accurate to 0.01m.
