Content and Format of the Examination for Promotion from Lecturer Grade III to Grade II

1. General Knowledge Test

- Content of the test:

- Guidelines and policies of the Communist Party, policies, and laws of the State on education and training in general, and higher education in particular;- International trends, strategies, and policies for the development of higher education in Vietnam;- State policies and management on higher education;- Issues of innovation in higher education management and school administration;- Perspectives and strategic orientations for the development of the school's departments or majors;- Laws related to public employees in accordance with the professional title standard of a principal lecturer (grade II);- The knowledge content of the test and the test content in the field of education and training is 70%, and on the laws for public employees is 30%.

- Form of the test: Written essay.

- Duration of the test: 180 minutes.

2. Professional and Occupational Knowledge Test

- Content of the test: The candidate presents a comprehensive report on the training and scientific research results of the public employee from the time of appointment to the current position up to the time of registering for the rank promotion exam, and discusses professional issues in the field they are in charge of.

- Form of the test: Presentation and direct interview.

- Duration of the presentation and interview: 30 minutes per person.

3. Foreign Language Test

- Content of the test: Reading comprehension and writing skills at level 3 (B1) as stipulated by the professional title standard of a principal lecturer (grade II), with the public employee registering in one of the following foreign languages: English, French, Russian, German, Chinese.

In case the lecturer specializes in a foreign language, they must take a second foreign language test at level 3 (B1) as stipulated by the professional title standard of a principal lecturer (grade II).

- Form of the test: Written.

- Duration of the test: 90 minutes.

4. Information Technology Test

- Content of the test: Basic information technology skills as stipulated by the professional title standard of a principal lecturer (grade II).

- Form of the test: Multiple-choice or practical test on a computer.

- Duration of the test: 45 minutes.
