Circular 19: Knowledge Requirements for the Sculpting Profession at College Level

On December 23, 2019, the Ministry of Labor, Invalids, and Social Affairs issued Circular 19/2019/TT-BLDTBXH stipulating the minimum volume of knowledge and competency requirements that learners need to achieve upon graduating from intermediate level, college level in fields of art, journalism, and information.

Circular 19/2019/TT-BLDTBXH stipulates the volume of knowledge that students must achieve upon graduating from the college-level sculpture major as follows:

- Present the regulations on occupational safety, industrial hygiene, and fire and explosion prevention in sculpture;- Describe the basic characteristics of materials used in sculpture such as wood, stone, and plaster;- Analyze the basic principles of figure drawing according to a model, and sketching the model;- Explain concepts of management and various forms of production management;- Explain the structure, utility, sharpening methods, and usage of hand tools used in sculpture;- Describe the structure and operating principles of equipment used in sculpture;- Outline the operational procedures of equipment used in sculpture;- Describe the utility, structure, and operating principles of CNC machines used in sculpture;- Detail the operational procedures of CNC machines used in sculpture;- Analyze the sculpting process of bas-reliefs, animal statues, and human statues using wood, stone, and plaster materials;- Describe the process for surface finishing of wood sculptures, stone sculptures, and plaster sculptures;- Explain the procedure for designing sculpture models using hand tools and computers;- Analyze the characteristics of various types of sculpture works and the methods for quality assessment;- Present basic knowledge of politics, culture, society, and law;- Operate CNC machines to sculpt bas-reliefs, animal statues, and human statues;- Sketch bas-relief works, animal statues, and human statues according to a model;- Sculpt bas-reliefs, animal statues, and human statues from wood, stone, and plaster materials using hand tools and specialized machines, adhering to technical, artistic, and safety standards;- Finish sculpture product surfaces ensuring technical and artistic quality;- Design several contemporary bas-relief, animal statue, and human statue models, as well as classical human figures;- Sculpt works created by oneself using hand tools and machines according to technical, artistic, and safety standards;- Organize, manage, and supervise the work of production teams, production shifts, and production workshops to ensure quality according to technical requirements; ensure occupational safety, industrial hygiene, and fire and explosion prevention for people, equipment, and tools;- Independently organize and manage a sculptural product manufacturing enterprise;- Utilize basic information technology as prescribed; exploit, process, and apply information technology in professional work within the industry;- Use basic foreign language skills, achieving level 2/6 in the Vietnamese Foreign Language Competence Framework; apply foreign language skills to professional work.

Note: Minimum knowledge volume: 2,500 hours (equivalent to 90 credits)
