Circular 07: Contents of management of the national hydrometeorological database (illustrative image)

Under Article 10 Circular 07/2016/TT-BTNMT, the contents of management of the national hydrometeorological database in Vietnam are:

- Developing, updating, and exploiting the national hydrometeorological database and implementing online public services in the hydrometeorological sector;

- Integrating observation results, investigations, surveys, and related information and data about hydrometeorology, and monitoring climate change provided by relevant Ministries, central and local authorities;

- Developing and submitting regulations for issuing access rights to the national hydrometeorological database; managing the connection, sharing, and provision of data with the databases of Ministries, central and local authorities.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting is responsible for assisting the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment in organizing the management, operation, and exploitation of the national hydrometeorological database.

Additionally, the exploitation, use, integration, and exchange of data from the national hydrometeorological database with the hydrometeorological databases of Ministries, central and local authorities in Vietnam shall follow the provisions in Article 32 of the hydrometeorological Law 2015, and relevant legal regulations on hydrometeorology.
