Child Counseling Activities for Age-Appropriate Reproductive Health Care

Accordingly, Circular 33 stipulates that depending on the age and health status of children, advice should be provided to children, parents, or guardians in accordance with the national guidelines on reproductive health care services and the following contents:

- For children from 0-6 years old: advice on how to care for and clean children's genital organs; prevention of violence, sexual abuse of children; sex education for children; abnormalities in genital organs.

- For children from 7-13 years old: advice on the contents stipulated in Clause 1 of this Article and additional advice on physical and psychological changes according to age; gender; sexual orientation. Note the following contents:

- For girls: advice on normal and abnormal menstruation, hygiene during menstruation, ovulation and pregnancy, the phenomenon of masturbation;- For boys: advice on ejaculation, first ejaculation; phimosis, penis hygiene, the phenomenon of masturbation.

- For children from 14-16 years old: advice to children on the contents stipulated in Clauses 1 and 2 of this Article and the following contents: prevention of gynecological and andrological diseases; prevention of unwanted pregnancy; appropriate contraception methods; prevention of sexually transmitted diseases; safe sex; life skills such as negotiation skills, refusal skills, self-worth identification skills.

- For children visiting medical facilities, Circular 33 stipulates the implementation of the following contents:

- Providing information and advice on the current health status of children, handling, treatment, and prevention;- Advising children on reproductive health care;- Advising on abnormalities in genital organs.
