05 Ethical Standards in the Information Technology Profession

On December 29, 2017, the Ministry of Information and Communications issued Circular 45/2017/TT-BTTTT stipulating the standards for the professional title of public employees in the field of information technology.

Circular 45 stipulates that public employees in the information technology sector must meet the following professional ethical standards:

- Comply with the guidelines, policies, and directives of the Communist Party, the laws of the State, and the regulations of the sector and localities regarding information and communication.- Master the viewpoints, policies, guidelines, directives, and resolutions of the Communist Party and the laws of the State in their specialized field;- Be honest, objective, and demonstrate a high sense of responsibility towards the assigned work; perform fully and accurately the duties of a public employee in professional activities.- Have a consciousness to cultivate ethics, maintain integrity, honor, and professional reputation; do not abuse the assigned position and duties for personal gain; be united, creative, willing to embrace and learn new things, and self-improve; have a sense of coordination, help colleagues, share experiences in work; actively participate in scientific research projects, technical innovation initiatives to develop the profession and improve proficiency.- Comply with the law on protecting state secrets; ensure the safety, confidentiality of information and security, defense.
