What is a Rural Market?

The Editorial Board has received an email inquiry from Ms. Tran Thi Phuoc asking: What is a rural market? And which document regulates this term? She hopes the Editorial Board can respond as soon as possible.

According to the provisions of Clause 11, Article 2 of Decree 02/2003/ND-CP on market development and management: (This clause is supplemented by Clause 1, Article 1 of Decree 114/2009/ND-CP)

Rural markets are community markets in the districts and in suburban and peri-urban areas.

Additionally, the Editorial Board provides you with the following terminology:

- Mountain markets are community markets in mountainous districts.

- Border gate markets are markets established in border areas on land or sea, associated with export and import border gates but not part of the border economic zones.

The above outlines the regulations regarding rural markets. To better understand this issue, you should refer to Decree 02/2003/ND-CP.
