A general market is a market that trades in multiple types of goods.

- A specialized market is a market that specializes in trading one or several types of goods with distinct characteristics and unique features.
- A people's market is a Type 3 market (managed by the commune or ward) trading in common and essential goods that serve the daily needs of the people.
