What is a fire compartment?
Pursuant to National Technical Regulation QCVN 06:2021/BXD on Fire Safety for Houses and Buildings stipulating as follows:
Fire Compartment:
The transitional space between two doors used to protect against the intrusion of smoke and other gases when entering a house, staircase, or other rooms within the building.

Fire Compartment:
The fire compartment consists of constituent parts with specified fire resistance limits as required by the regulations (see 2.4.3).
Requirements for fire compartment:
The fire-resistant parts are classified according to the fire resistance limits of their separating elements as shown in Table 1. When the fire compartment includes doors, gates, hatches, air valves, windows, screens (referred to collectively as fire doors and valves), or when these doors are located in the fire compartment (referred to as fire compartment doors), the fire doors, valves, and fire compartment must be selected to have appropriate fire resistance capabilities corresponding to the type of fire compartment as specified in Table 1.
The fire resistance limits of different types of fire doors and valves in the fire compartment are specified in Table 2.
The fire resistance limits of the components of the fire compartment (walls, floors, fire doors, and valves) at the fire doors and valves in the fire compartment must comply with the regulations specified in Table 3.
Type 1 fire compartment components must belong to fire hazard level K0. In specific cases, the use of fire hazard level K1 is permitted for type 2 to type 4 fire compartment components.

1) The fire resistance limit of fire valves is allowed to be determined based only on integrity (E) if these valves are installed within channels, shafts, and conduits that ensure the required fire resistance capability, both for integrity (E) and insulation (I). 2) The fire resistance limit of elevator shaft doors is allowed to be at least E 30. |
