What is a Contract for the Procurement of Materials and Equipment?

In Clause 2, Article 1 of Decree 50/2021/ND-CP, it is stipulated:

The procurement contract for materials and equipment is a contract for the purchase of materials and equipment to be installed in the construction work according to the technological design; the general procurement contract for materials and equipment is a contract for the purchase of materials and equipment for all works of a construction investment project.

Additionally, the Decree also stipulates:

The contract for design and procurement of materials and equipment (in English is Engineering - Procurement abbreviated as EP) is a contract to carry out the design and procurement of materials and equipment to be installed in the construction work according to the technological design; the general design and procurement contract for materials and equipment is a contract for the design and procurement of materials and equipment for all works of a construction investment project.
