What are standards for other harmful factors to ensure safety at construction sites in Vietnam?
Pursuant to Section 2.18.11 of the National technical regulation on safety in construction QCVN 18:2021/BXD promulgated together with the Circular 16/2021/TT-BXD on standards for other harmful factors to ensure safety at construction sites in Vietnam as follows:
2.18.11.1 Jobs that use human strength to transport, lift, lower or hold heavy objects have a high risk of causing health and safety problems for workers. In this case, the employer must take appropriate measures to minimize the harmful impact on workers such as reducing the weight of the lifting object and (or) using mechanical construction machines and equipment instead.
2.18.11.2 Waste on the construction site must be properly removed or treated to avoid backlog on the construction site so as not to affect the health of workers and the community.
NOTE: Circular No. 02/2018/TT-BXD dated February 6, 2018 of the Ministry of Construction stipulating environmental protection in construction work and reporting regime on environmental protection work of the Construction industry.
What are standards for personal protective equipment in ensuring safety at construction sites in Vietnam?
Pursuant to Section 2.19.1 of the National technical regulation on safety in construction QCVN 18:2021/BXD promulgated together with the Circular 16/2021/TT-BXD on standards for personal protective equipment in ensuring safety at construction sites in Vietnam as follows:
2.19.1.1 In workplaces with harmful or dangerous factors or working in adverse conditions, the employer must fully equip the employees with occupational safety equipment including pants, shirt, boots, hats, gloves and other necessary tools and means suitable to the type of work, the type of risk as prescribed by the law on occupational safety and health and the guidance of competent agencies.
Note 1: The specific regulations on personal protective equipment are suitable for the types of work mentioned in the respective sections of this regulation.
Note 2: Circular No. 04/2014/TT-BLDTBXH dated February 12, 2014 of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs guiding the implementation of the regime of personal protective equipment.
2.19.1.2 Personal protective equipment must consider ergonomic principles, must comply with the provisions of the law on product and goods quality, QCVN and relevant organizations.
NOTE: Specific requirements for types of industrial protection are mentioned in the QCVNs, including: QCVN 06:2012/BLDTBXH (about Industrial Safety Helmets), QCVN 08:2012/BLDTBXH (about Respiratory protective devices - dust filters), QCVN 10:2012/BLDTBXH (about Filters used in masks and respirators), QCVN 24DTBXH (about Shoes) insulating gloves); QCVN 27:2016/BLDTBXH (about Personal eye protection equipment used in welding work), QCVN 28:2016/BLDTBXH (about Automatic filters used in welding masks), QCVN 36:2019/BLDTBXH (about PPE - Safety footwear), QCVN 37:2019/BLDTBXH (about Heat and fire protective clothing) and other relevant QCVNs.
What are standards for toilet for workers at construction sites in Vietnam?
Pursuant to Section 2.20.3 of the National technical regulation on safety in construction QCVN 18:2021/BXD promulgated together with the Circular 16/2021/TT-BXD on standards for toilet for workers at construction sites in Vietnam as follows:
2.20.3.1 Toilets must be ventilated or adequately ventilated;
2.20.3.2 Toilets must be clean, sanitized, and disinfected; Toilets must be maintained, and repaired according to the instructions of the manufacturer, and in accordance with the actual condition of the equipment and the number of users.
