Based on Subsection A.2.27 of Section A in Appendix A of the National Technical Regulation on Fire Safety for Buildings and Structures issued together with Circular 02/2021/TT-BXD, the regulations regarding water supply for fire suppression in buildings classified as F1.2, F4.3, and mixed-use buildings are as follows:
A.2.27.1 The water supply system for fire suppression in the building (pipelines and equipment) must be designed separately, with a dedicated pump station arranged independently from other functional rooms.
A.2.27.2 The water flow for fire suppression in each fire compartment must be sufficient for 4 firefighting nozzles, with a minimum water flow rate of 2.5 L/s per nozzle.
A.2.27.3 In fire compartments with public spaces, the placement of fire suppression water outlets with a water flow rate of no less than 2.5 L/s is allowed, provided that vertical pipes are installed to supply the outlets with a flow rate of 5 L/s.
A.2.27.4 Two connecting pipes with appropriate diameter connectors must be arranged to connect the indoor water supply system for fire suppression with automatic firefighting devices to external firefighting vehicles.
There must be shut-off valves and check valves inside the building to regulate the water supply into the system. The outlets located outside the building must be placed in convenient positions for firefighting vehicles to access and must be clearly marked with easily readable signs.
A.2.27.5 The placement of sprinkler nozzles for automatic water-based fire suppression systems in rooms, halls, evacuation routes, and other areas must ensure the protection of window openings (from the outside or inside of the rooms) and door openings of apartments, office rooms, and other rooms that open into corridors.
A.2.27.6 The discharge intensity for automatic fire suppression systems must not be lower than 0.08 L/(s.m2).
A.2.27.7 For sprinkler fire suppression systems, the water flow must be ensured to be no lower than 10 L/s.
A.2.27.8 In smoke-free stairwell buffer chambers, waiting water outlets with a diameter of D65 for professional firefighting forces (of the dry pipe system) must be arranged. On the first floor, these pipes must have connectors to connect with high-pressure pumps of firefighting vehicles.
Best regards!
