Requirements for the ventilation and air conditioning systems of apartment buildings are regulated as follows.
Requirements for the ventilation and air conditioning system of apartment buildings are stipulated in Subsection 2.6 of Circular 21/2019/TT-BXD as follows:
2.6.1
Apartments and spaces outside the apartments in apartment buildings, mixed-use apartment buildings must have natural or forced ventilation systems. Local ventilation must be arranged for the kitchen area, bathroom, and toilet.
2.6.2
The fresh air flow provided for each apartment should not be less than 30 m3/h/person or not less than the total exhaust air flow from the apartment's kitchen, bathroom, and toilet.
2.6.3
The kitchen must have a ventilation system to exhaust air outside the building and ensure air circulation.
2.6.4
Emergency escape routes and lobbies within the building must ensure an air exchange rate not less than 4 times/h according to the volume of the lobby.
NOTE: Emergency escape routes and lobbies without natural ventilation (sealed, no windows) must ensure an air exchange rate not less than 4 times/h according to the volume of the lobby when not equipped with air conditioning or not less than 1 m3/h.m2 when equipped with air conditioning.
2.6.5
Parking garages must ensure an air exchange rate not less than 6 times/h for regular ventilation systems and 9 times/h for smoke extraction ventilation systems.
2.6.6
When using forced ventilation and air conditioning systems, the following requirements must be met:
- The external climate parameters for the design of the ventilation and air conditioning systems must comply with QCVN 02:2009/BXD and the selected applicable standards;- Only refrigerants that are safe for the environment as per current regulations may be used;- Exhaust air must not cause discomfort or harm to people and surrounding properties;- Operation must not produce noise exceeding the allowable limits;- Rooms containing hazardous substances must have separate exhaust, treatment, and air supply systems; fresh air must be supplied directly into the room with a flow rate not less than 90% of the exhaust air flow.
2.6.7
Drainage systems in the sanitary areas of apartment buildings, mixed-use apartment buildings must ensure that there is no gas or odor leakage affecting the health of residents and occupants of the buildings.
2.6.8
Smoke ventilation, smoke extraction, and smoke protection systems for escape routes, fire resistance ratings for air ducts and air channels must comply with the requirements in QCVN 06:2019/BXD.
