Fire Safety Distance Requirements for Residential Buildings, Public Works, and Auxiliary Facilities of Industrial Establishments in Vietnam
Pursuant to Section E.1 Appendix E of the National Technical Regulation on Fire Safety for Buildings and Structures issued in conjunction with Circular 02/2021/TT-BXD, the requirements for fire safety distances for residential buildings, public works, and auxiliary facilities of industrial establishments are prescribed as follows:
The fire safety distance between residential buildings, public works, and auxiliary facilities of industrial establishments is taken according to Table E.1.
The fire safety distance from residential buildings, public works, and auxiliary facilities with fire resistance class I and II to production buildings and garages with fire resistance class I and II shall be no less than 9 meters; to production buildings with roofs insulated with Polymer materials or flammable materials shall be no less than 15 meters.
Table E.1 - Fire Safety Distance Between Residential Buildings, Public Works, and Auxiliary Facilities of Industrial Establishments
Fire Resistance Class of the First Building | Distance, m, to the second building with fire resistance class | ||
I, II | III | IV, V | |
I, II | 6 | 8 | 10 |
III | 8 | 8 | 10 |
IV, V | 10 | 10 | 15 |
NOTE 1: The distance between buildings and structures is the clear distance between walls or their external structures. In cases where the structures of buildings or structures are made of combustible materials protruding more than 1 meter, the distance between these structures must be taken.
NOTE 2: The distance between walls without window openings is allowed to be reduced by up to 20%, except for buildings with fire resistance class IV and V. NOTE 3: For 2-story buildings with fire resistance class V, as well as buildings roofed with flammable materials, the fire safety distance needs to be increased by 20%. NOTE 4: The distance between buildings with fire resistance class I and II is permitted to be less than 6 meters if the walls of the taller buildings facing the other buildings are fire partition walls. NOTE 5: There is no regulation on the distance between residential buildings, as well as between residential buildings and other living service structures when the total construction land area (including the non-construction land area between them) does not exceed the allowed maximum floor area within a fire compartment (see Appendix H, building group F.1, F.2). |
Sincerely!
