In Vietnam, what are the contents of the exam for the grant of an architectural practice certificate?

Pursuant to Clause 2, Article 26 of the 2019 Architecture Law, the content of the exam for granting an architectural practice certificate includes:

2. The test for grant of architecture practicing certificates shall be designed to include the following questions:

a) Professional experience related to architecture;

b) Legal knowledge about the sector that examinees are practicing;

c) Specialized knowledge about architecture;

d) Knowledge about rules of professional conduct for practicing architects.

According to Clause 2, Article 25 of Decree 85/2020/ND-CP, the content of the test question set with a maximum score of 100 must be consistent with Clause 2, Article 26 of the Law on Architecture, including:

a) 10 questions about professional experience with a maximum score of 40;

b) 05 questions on legal knowledge with a maximum score of 20;

c) 05 questions on professional knowledge with a maximum score of 20;

d) 05 questions on the Code of Professional Conduct of Practicing Architects with a maximum score of 20.

Accordingly, when the content of the exam for the grant of an architectural practice certificate will include the content as prescribed above.

When will the exam for the issuance of architectural practice certificates be held in Vietnam?

Pursuant to Clause 5, Article 25 of Decree 85/2020/ND-CP has the following provisions:

5. The organization of the test once every 6 months or irregularly according to actual requirements at the qualifying test locations as prescribed. In case the test cannot be held, a written notice must be sent to the individual registering for the test within 15 days from the date of receipt of the registration declaration.

Thus, according to the above regulations, the test is organized every 6 months or irregularly.
