Households Temporarily Residing in the City: Are They Eligible for Separate Electricity Meters?
At Section 1, Article 2 of Circular 19/2014/TT-BCT on the template of electricity purchase agreements for residential purposes issued by the Minister of Industry and Trade. It is stipulated that:
Article 2. Signing and Language of Contract
- At a location registering for electricity purchase
a) The electricity purchaser is a household using a household registration book or temporary residence book to register for electricity purchase, only 01 Contract is allowed to be signed.
b) In the case of not using a household registration book or temporary residence book, the electricity purchaser is only allowed to use one of the following documents: a certificate of house ownership or a housing allocation decision; a valid house purchase contract; a certificate of land use rights (on land that has housing); a notarized or authenticated house management and use authorization contract to register for electricity purchase and only 01 Contract is allowed to be signed.
=> Therefore, if your family registers for temporary residence in the city, you can still negotiate with the electricity provider to sign an electricity purchase agreement without having to share a meter with the landlord.
Respectfully.
