Based on Article 6 of Decree 168/2024/ND-CP regulating fines and penalty points on driving licenses of automobile operators, four-wheeled passenger vehicles with engines, four-wheeled cargo vehicles with engines, and similar vehicles violating road traffic rules:

What are remedial measures for administrative violations of road traffic safety in Vietnam?
Based on Clause 3, Article 3 of Decree 168/2024/ND-CP, the prescribed remedial measures for administrative violations of road traffic order and safety include:
- Restoring the original state altered by the administrative violation
- Implementing measures to rectify environmental pollution caused by the administrative violation
- Re-exporting vehicles out of Vietnam
- Returning illegal profits obtained from the administrative violation
- Demolishing obstacles blocking road signs, traffic lights
- Installing or replacing sufficient safety devices or restoring technical features of vehicles, devices according to regulations, or removing non-conformable additional equipment
- Issuing driver's identification cards to drivers according to regulations
- Organizing professional training, guidelines or conducting periodic health exams for drivers and service staff on the vehicle according to regulations
- Installing journey monitoring devices, image recording devices for drivers, seat belts, seats for preschool and elementary students, specialized rescue equipment on vehicles according to conformable standards
- Removing audio, light equipment installed on vehicles causing disorder, road traffic safety
- Providing, updating, transmitting, storing, managing information, data from journey monitoring equipment, driver image recording devices installed on cars according to regulations
- Adjusting odometer readings of cars that have been tampered with
- Restoring trademarks, paint colors recorded in vehicle registration certificates per regulations
- Conforming to vehicle license, signboard markings, and adhering to labeling or sticking letters, numbers, information on the vehicle's body, doors according to regulations
- Restoring the original shape, dimensions, initial technical safety condition of the vehicle and re-inspecting before allowing it to participate in traffic
- Adjusting the vehicle body according to current conformable standards, re-inspecting, and adjusting the allowable load mentioned in the technical safety and environmental protection inspection certificate per current regulations before permitting the vehicle to engage in traffic
- Processing procedures for exchanging, revoking, issuing new vehicle registration certificates, license plates, technical safety and environmental protection inspection certificates according to regulations
- Returning licenses, professional practice certificates edited to alter their content
- Returning vehicles to Special Economic and Commercial Zones, International Border Gate Economic Zones
What are general rules when participating in road traffic in Vietnam?
Based on Article 10 of The Road Traffic Safety Law 2024, the general rules for participating in road traffic are as follows:
- Road traffic participants must travel on the right according to their direction, follow the prescribed lanes and sections of the road, comply with road signs, and other road traffic rules.
- Drivers and passengers in a car must fasten their seat belts in areas equipped with seat belts when participating in road traffic.
- When transporting children under 10 years old, and less than 1.35 meters in height in a car, children are not allowed to sit in the same row as the driver, unless the car only has one row of seats; the driver must use and instruct the use of suitable safety equipment for the children.
