What is a Single-Element Mine in the Field of Minerals?

Pursuant to Clause 3, Article 3 of Decree 36/2020/ND-CP (Effective from May 10, 2020), stipulating:

- A monometallic mine is understood as a mine that contains metallic minerals in which the reserves of one specific metallic mineral are approved, including: iron, manganese, titanium, tin, tungsten, chromite, gold, silver.

- A polymetallic mine is a mine containing two or more types of recoverable metallic minerals during the extraction and processing process, which is approved or recognized as reserves by competent authorities as stipulated in Appendix I (group 7 - other metallic minerals) of Decree No. 67/2019/ND-CP dated July 31, 2019 of the Government of Vietnam, which stipulates the method for calculating and the level of fees for granting mineral mining rights (hereinafter collectively referred to as Decree No. 67/2019/ND-CP). The valuable and recoverable minerals in polymetallic mines include at least two of the following metals: iron, copper, lead, zinc, tin, tungsten, nickel, cobalt, bismuth, antimony, gold, silver, and platinum.

=> Thus, a monometallic mine is a mine that contains only one type of metallic mineral, and a polymetallic mine is a mine that contains two or more types of metallic minerals.
