Using a Mobile Phone While Driving: Is the Driver's License Confiscated?
According to Point h, Clause 4, Article 6 of Decree No. 100/2019/ND-CP stipulates a fine ranging from VND 600,000 to VND 1,000,000 for individuals who engage in the following acts while operating a vehicle: using an umbrella (parasol), mobile phone, audio device, except for hearing aids.
Additionally, the violator will be deprived of the right to use their driver's license from 01 month to 03 months; if causing a traffic accident, the deprivation of the right to use the driver's license will range from 02 months to 04 months.
Thus, participating in traffic while using a mobile phone will result in a fine ranging from VND 600,000 to VND 1,000,000 and the deprivation of the driver's license from 01 month to 03 months. And when deprived, you are not allowed to participate in traffic.
