Title: Is Drinking Alcohol Allowed While Biking?

Pursuant to Clause 1, Article 8 of Decree 100/2019/ND-CP stipulating penalties for participating in traffic by means of which include bicycles as follows:

A fine ranging from 80,000 VND to 100,000 VND shall be imposed on operators of the vehicle committing one of the following violations:

...

- Bicycles, motorized bicycles, rickshaws carrying more persons than prescribed, except in cases of carrying a sick person for emergency care;

- Loading goods exceeding the prescribed limits, lacking safety assurance, obstructing traffic, obstructing the operator's view;

- Operating the vehicle on the road while having a blood alcohol concentration or breath alcohol concentration that does not exceed 50 milligrams/100 milliliters of blood or 0.25 milligrams/1 liter of breath.

Thus, riding a bicycle with a blood alcohol concentration or breath alcohol concentration that does not exceed 50 milligrams/100 milliliters of blood or 0.25 milligrams/1 liter of breath will be fined from 80,000 VND to 100,000 VND.
