Penalty for Making a U-turn Under a Bridge with a Car
According to current legislation, when performing a U-turn with a car, it is prohibited to make a U-turn on a bridge. To be specific: as per Clause 4 Article 15 of the Road Traffic Law 2008, it is stipulated:
No U-turns allowed at pedestrian crossings, on bridges, at bridgeheads, under overpasses, fords, in tunnels, on expressways, at level crossings where a road intersects with a railway, on narrow roads, slopes, and road sections with obscured visibility.
In the event that a car driver performs a U-turn in these areas, they will be subject to penalties as specified in Point k Clause 2 Article 5 of Decree 100/2019/ND-CP, as follows:
- A fine ranging from VND 400,000 to VND 600,000 for drivers committing any of the following violations: Specifically.
Making a U-turn at pedestrian crossings, **** on bridges, at bridgeheads, fords, under overpasses, except in cases where traffic organization in these areas has designated U-turn spots.
