Penalties for Using Invalid Driver's Licenses
According to Clause 8d, Article 21 of Decree 100/2019/ND-CP:
A fine ranging from VND 4,000,000 to VND 6,000,000 shall be imposed on drivers of cars, tractors, and vehicles similar to cars who commit one of the following violations:
Using an invalid driver's license (a driver's license with the serial number on the back not matching the latest issued serial number in the driver's license management information system).
In addition to being fined, the driver committing the violation shall also be subject to the following additional penalties:
- Confiscation of the invalid driver's license;
- Suspension of the right to use the latest issued driver's license in the driver's license management information system for a period of 01 month to 03 months.
Thus, according to this regulation, a car driver using an invalid driver's license will be fined from 4 to 6 million VND. Additionally, the violator's vehicle will be temporarily impounded according to Clause 1i, Article 82 of this Decree.
