Penalties for Making a U-turn at the Beginning of a Bridge

According to the provisions of current law, when making a U-turn with a car, it is not allowed to make a U-turn on a bridge. To be specific: in Clause 4, Article 15 of the Law on Road Traffic 2008, it is stipulated:

Not allowed to make a U-turn at pedestrian crosswalks, on bridges, bridgeheads, under overpasses, at level crossings, in tunnels, highways, at places where a road intersects with a railway, narrow roads, steep roads, and curves with obstructed visibility.

In the case where the driver of a car makes a U-turn on a bridge, they will be fined according to the provisions of Point k, Clause 2, Article 5 of Decree 100/2019/ND-CP, specifically:

- A fine ranging from 400,000 VND to 600,000 VND applied to drivers committing one of the following violations:

Making a U-turn at pedestrian crosswalks, on bridges, bridgeheads, in tunnels, under overpasses, except in cases where the traffic organization in these areas provides designated U-turn spots.
