Penalties for Driving a Car in the Wrong Direction on a One-Way Street Causing a Traffic Accident
At Point a, Clause 7, Article 5 of Decree 100/2019/ND-CP, it is stipulated:
Article 5. Penalties for drivers of cars and similar vehicles violating road traffic rules
A fine ranging from VND 10,000,000 to VND 12,000,000 shall be imposed on drivers who commit any of the following violations. Including but not limited to:
Failing to pay attention, driving over the speed limit causing traffic accidents; stopping, parking, making a U-turn, reversing, avoiding, overtaking, changing direction, changing lanes not in compliance causing traffic accidents; not driving in the correct lane, not maintaining a safe distance between two vehicles as regulated causing traffic accidents or driving on a road with signs prohibiting the type of vehicle being operated, driving in the wrong direction on a one-way street, driving in the opposite direction on a road with a “No Entry” sign causing traffic accidents, except for violations stipulated at point a, clause 8 of this Article;
In addition, for the above-mentioned violations, the driver’s License will also be suspended from 02 months to 04 months.
=> Therefore, the act of driving a car in the wrong direction on a one-way street causing a traffic accident shall result in a fine ranging from VND 10,000,000 to VND 12,000,000 and the driver’s License will be suspended from 02 months to 04 months.
