Parking a Car Over a Drain Cover: What Are the Penalties?
According to Clause 1, Article 18 of the 2008 Law on Road Traffic, it is stipulated:
Stopping a vehicle refers to the temporary immobilization of a vehicle for a necessary period of time sufficient for people to get on or off the vehicle, load or unload goods, or perform other tasks.
Additionally, at Point h, Clause 2, Article 5 of Decree 100/2019/ND-CP, it is stipulated:
- A fine ranging from VND 400,000 to VND 600,000 shall be imposed on vehicle operators who commit one of the following violations:
Stopping a vehicle not close to the curb or roadway on the right side in the direction of travel, or with the closest wheel more than 0.25 m away from the curb or roadway; stopping on tram tracks, roadways dedicated to buses; stopping over drainage grates, telephone or high-voltage power line manholes, or areas designated for fire trucks to take water; leaving the driving position and turning off the engine when stopping; stopping or parking at incorrect positions in sections with designated stopping or parking areas; stopping or parking on pedestrian crosswalks; stopping in areas with signs saying "No stopping and parking," except for violations specified at Point i, Clause 4 and Point b, Clause 6 of this Article;
